♦ Basics ♦
NAME :: Sabrina Kurigawa.
NICK NAMES :: Brin, Raven.
AGE :: Although she appears to be only in her mid to late twenties, she's more than likely closer to around 35. Or, so she assumes based upon the dog tag found around her neck, which was her only identifying feature when she was found.
The metal tags list only 3 lines of data; the top line reads “A-01.” The two lines underneath appear to be dates; the second line reads “22.05.2482” and the last line reads “15.06.2500”. She assumes her birthdate is the former, because she's definitely no measley 17 years old.
ALLEGIANCE :: Browncoats. Due to her life's circumstances and the people she lives around, she has grown to hate the Alliance with a fiery passion, brewed in the very bowels of hell.
SEXUALITY :: Heterosexual, with some bi-tendencies.
GENDER :: Female.
PLAYED BY :: Monica Bellucci.
♦ Appearance ♦
EYES :: Haunted. Almond shaped. Chocolate color.
HAIR :: Ebony, naturally wavy, long.
FACE :: Heart shaped, rosy cheeks. Small scar on her left eyebrow and another by her right ear that extends down across her jaw.
BODY :: Voluptuous, toned, naturally tanned complexion. She stands at a surprising 5'11" and she weighs in around 87 kilos. A majority of that is muscle weight, however, she is not overly muscled. She does maintain an exercise routine and she does a fair amount of manual labor.
UNUSUAL :: She has a slash mark that runs from her left shoulder clear down to the apex of her right hip, along with a couple other smaller cut wounds on her arms and stomach.
She has a bullet wound in her right shoulder, another just below her rib cage on her right side, one on her left thigh, and two near her left hip. Clearly she’s seen action in her day.
There is also a scar that runs across the base of her skull, and another up the middle of the back of her head from the base of her skull to just above the line of her ears. The scar forms something like an upside down T. Her hair grows so thick and dark that these are rarely visible.
OVERALL ::
Sabrina has a simple dress style. She prefers tank tops and cargo pants to dresses and skirts. She owns a couple dresses but it would have to be a damn special occasion for her to wear one.
She likes to be prepared for anything so she prefers clothes she can move and maneuver around in. Nothing too constricting, but she doesn't mind a little slink.
Her favorite color is hunter green, but she mainly dresses in dark neutrals; blacks, dark reds browns blues and greens, and the occasional feminine touch of lavender or violet.
She prefers to be barefoot whenever possible, but most of her footwear consists of military boots and the occasional strappy sandal or two.
She’s not skinny, nor is she any kind of heifer. She wears about a size 12 comfortably, and fills out no more than a C cup with her bust size.
Her hair reaches down to the small of her back, but mostly she wears it up in a messy bun, or long braid. When she wears make up, it is very minimal and subtle. Maybe just a little eyeliner and lip gloss.

Prevent her Tavern/Home from being destroyed.

OVERALL :: Sabrina has a no-bull-shit type of personality. What you see is what you get. She tells it like it is and expects the same in return. She is not afraid to call a complete stranger out on his or her bull shit.
She's pretty good at reading people so she can tell when and if someone is lying to her, or trying to play her. She is highly protective, sometimes overly protective, of what she considers hers; whether that be possessions or people she cares about.
Although she has a naturally flirtatious spirit, she tends to take offense when people try to hit on her first(the occasional exception applies if she finds the person interesting to begin with).
She's a proud woman and there's little else she hates more than being underestimated or when someone tries to take advantage of her cause of her sex.
Sabrina is one of those people that would rather go a year without having sex, as opposed to shacking up with some random stranger. Sometimes a good brawl or fight, or hell even an intense workout is enough to relieve some of that tension and release those endorphins.
♦ Background ♦
MOTHER :: Unknown.
FATHER :: Unknown.
SIBLINGS :: Unknown.
HISTORY :: Sabrina’s first detailed memory that she can recall is waking up in a ship infirmary, in a hospital bed with one man in a white coat checking her over, while two men in brown coats stood to the side. She couldn’t hear anything they were saying. Then she blacked out again.
The second time she woke up, the number of brown coats in the room had quadrupled. Alarms were beeping, people were shouting, and she was holding a scalpel to a guy's neck. She later found out that she was having an intense, albeit violent nightmare and the poor doc had tried to stir her awake, to his utter regret.
She ended up coming to her senses before doing anything drastic, but the damage had still been done. They were afraid of her now. There was one out of them all, however, who chose sympathy over fear.
Geoffrey Kurigawa was an older gentleman. Lived, experienced. Fought against the Alliance from the start it seemed. He was very familiar with their ways and tactics and this girl had Alliance pet project written all over her. From the unmarked uniform they found her in, then the tags hanging around her neck, and lastly the tech the doc pulled from her brain stem.
Later, she would learn that the Doc had been surprised she survived at all. Not only had she sustained heavy injury during the battle but the chip in her head had apparently shorted out her entire cerebral cortex, which explained why she had no recollection as to who she was, or how she'd ended up smack in the middle of an Alliance/Independent battle.
Despite her could be violent tendencies, Geoff couldn't help but feel for the young woman. If she was a day over 21, he was the President of the Alliance. This girl was completely lost in the black. Hell, she could barely even remember how to speak properly. What had those purple bellies done to her?
He just couldn't stop thinking that she was some father's little girl, more than likely kidnapped from her own home, turned into... Well he didn't rightly know what they'd tried to make her into. All he knew was that if it was him, if it was his daughter, he would hope the sunvabitch who found her would give her the same chance he was about to.
It only took one wave home to his wife to make up his mind. It was obvious the girl needed help, and after explaining the situation to his beloved Clara, there was no arguing with her demand he bring her home.
Clara was a spiritual woman. Geoff knew that if anyone could help this young lady, it was Clara Marie Kurigawa. Even if the girl's past was lost forever, Clara would see to it that she could try to look to the future. So first thing, he hopped a ship to Juniper with his young companion in tow.
Juniper City. Shiniest place south of the core. There he and his wife ran a small and simple restaurant and bar right off the fishing docks, called Jaded Palace. They tended to have to explain the name to people, but that was a rather long story, generations old.
What the girl's right name was, they didn't know. It was Clara who had decided upon Sabrina, saying somehow it just seemed to fit.
Sabrina found out just as soon as she arrived that the Kurigawa's had a pension for taking in strays. Apart from Sabrina, there was another young man named Nathaniel that they had sort of 'adopted.' He didn't talk much. Clara seemed to think that he might have witnessed his family killed by Reavers and the event had struck him mute. Made sense. He couldn't have been more than 18 years old, and he'd been living with the Kurigawa's for over eight years and he'd been homeless living in the streets before that, so if he really had witnessed a reaver attack, he must've been very young.
The one thing that was for certain though was that he was smart as all get out, and could fix dag near anything. He was responsible for most of the manual labour and maintenance around the Tavern, letting Clara focus on the restaurant and such.
After helping Sabrina settle in, and spreading the word that the 'niece' of his recently deceased brother had come to live with them, Geoffrey only stayed two weeks before returning to his unit.
Clara and Sabrina hit things off right away it seemed. Sabrina was interested in the work she did, the gardening, running the tavern. It wasn't long before she was helping run the place, giving old Clara a much deserved break. Clara taught her to cook, to garden.
Days turned to weeks, then to months and years. Sabrina would become a part of their pseudo-family to the point that it no longer seemed like a lie telling people she was.
As Clara was getting up in years, running of the restaurant began to rely solely on Sabrina, a task she seemed to thrive in.
Sabrina always had that nagging instinct in the back of her head, though, that at times made her need to work out her frustrations in some seedy underground fighting ring. For the most part, however, she tended to keep those urges to herself. The zen of hard labour helped as well.
When Geoff died at the Battle of Serenity Valley several years later, Clara was devastated and her health took a turn for the worst. She died only a few months later due to no foreseeable illness or disease. If anything, Sabrina could bet it was heartbreak. She knew such a thing could be devastating but the possibility of someone dying from it, that just didn't seem logical to her. She couldn't rightly understand.
To her complete and utter surprise, Geoff and Clara had left Jaded Palace, their land, and most of their possessions to Sabrina in their will, as well as looking after Nate.
Some of the extended members of their family were outraged. Tradition dictated the restaurant should go to their eldest child, but they justified their decision by saying that Sabrina was the closest thing to a daughter they'd ever had and could ever wish for. She loved the place as much as they did and they knew they were leaving it in capable hands.
Relationships with Geoff's supplier who ran the farm they got most of their meat produce from was strained for several years until Sabrina worked out a deal with him. Not only would she pay for the produce she got from him, but she contracted to him 10% of the tavern's monthly earnings as well as supplying him with two free barrels of the Kurigawa's secret recipe Juniper Beer every month. This was after talking him down from 40% of her earnings. What could she say... She had a gift for words.
Together, Nate and Brin have been maintaining and running Jaded Palace for almost six years now.
Sabrina's time on Juniper has been pleasant for the most part... With the regular nights of insomnia usually caused by violent nightmares she can never remember, only waking up twisted in her sheets and drenched in sweat. Then, throw in the random thoughts and tendencies for violence, and unexpected and immensely confusing memory recalls and she'd call it an interesting couple of years.

The blast echoed through the small but open room and the two men in the tangles of a fight stopped mid punch and glanced towards the bar where Sabrina stood with a double barreled shotgun aimed right at them.
“Now, you fellas don’ know me too well, which is why ya ain’t findin’ yerselves on the floor with your insides spillin’ out o’ your bellies right about now. Most folks here know I don’ like guns, but that in no way means I don’ know when and how ta use ‘em.”
Sabrina stepped out from behind the bar and approached the two men, her aim never wavering in the slightest. Both men slowly broke apart and stood back with their arms raised slightly. “Now, I dun know what backwater alley you boys dun grew up in, but this here is my place, y’dig? And I work hard at keepin’ it nice ‘n’ shiny. So I’m’a have ta ask you fellas to take yer business elsewhere, with no undue fussin’... or I’ll fill ya both chalk full o’ so much lead they’ll mistake ya for a couple o’ pencils.” She was always terrible at that metaphor thing. To emphasize her point though she pulled back the trigger on both barrels.
With scared looks on their faces both brawlers backed away towards the door then took off at a run when Brin looked to be getting trigger happy.
Tucking the gun under her arm and letting it hang at her side, she turned to address her remaining patrons. She stepped up onto an empty table and shouted, “Hey Nathaniel!” The young man in question poked his head out from the kitchen door, but said nothing. Sabrina then continued, “D’these folks look thirsty ta you?” Nathaniel smiled and stepped out from the kitchen where he began filling mugs from the spigot on tap. Sabrina grinned before shouting, “Juniper beer for everyone, on the house!”
There was a chorus of cheers as Sabrina stepped down from the table and rearranged the upturned chair one of the dumb apes had knocked over. She stepped towards the door and poked her head out to make sure they had really gone. Fortunately there was no incident this time. Luckily she’d sensed it coming and had managed to stop it while it was just the two men and hadn’t escalated to the whole bar.
Rutting tourists. Anyone who was anyone who knew her, knew that she had a zero tolerance for bar fights. Granted she didn’t mind stepping in on the occasional one... or two... or six... But she absolutely did not abide them in Her place.
